WHAT IS A SENSORY ROOM?
Our Sensory Room is a welcoming and inclusive space where children with atypical sensory needs, can experience the love of God. We believe that every child is a precious gift from God, and it's our privilege to do what we can to help children and their families feel valued, supported, and included.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF
A SENSORY ROOM?
This dedicated space is designed to provide comfort and joy to children with special needs while their parents attend our Sunday Gatherings. It is equipped with various sensory experiences tailored to meet unique needs. It's a safe and soothing environment where children can explore, engage, and relax, surrounded by colours, textures, sounds, and lights carefully selected to promote calmness and sensory regulation.
HOW WILL CHILDREN
LEARN ABOUT JESUS?
The classroom utilizes a special lesson plan that is specifically designed to be child-centred, using sensory integration techniques incorporating music, story-telling and one-on-one conversations to keep the children engaged and centered around Christ.
WHO IS PART OF THE
SENSORY ROOM TEAM?
We take serving our children seriously, which is why all of our volunteers have undergone a thorough screening process, which includes both a police check and completion of our Child Protection Policy. The Sensory Room also provides all volunteers with an informative training, and there are always two capable team members on duty.
WHO IS THE SENSORY
ROOM FOR?
We extend a warm invitation to all parents and children in our community who may benefit from our Sensory Room, to inquire about whether this is the best place for your child. Some of the needs that may be met by use of this space may be those with autism, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, or other special needs. Our dedicated team of volunteers is here to provide support and assistance, so that you and your child feel comfortable and cared for during your time with us.
If you're planning to visit us for the first time and would like to learn more about our Sensory Room or discuss any specific needs your child may have, please don't hesitate to contact us.
